I traveled to ten different countries; from Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, to Portugal, to create a documentary film about ONE WISH
HOW DID I DO IT?
I asked the participants from different countries to sign up online, where they could provide their names, email, and countries of residence after they agreed to participate.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
To encourage people to join, I needed to ensure the website was up and running early. I also needed to upload photos of everyone to show my credibility and that people were participating.
Reducing the ambient noise was one of the most challenging tasks I had to overcome. However, utilizing the complimentary app Noise Reducer https://noisereducer.media.io helped me save time and effort by removing unwanted noise. I also cleaned the rest of the file in Adobe Audition.
PIVOT
I stayed away from making a traditional documentary film. Instead, I presented a different perspective, capturing the individuals' unscripted actions and adding engaging b-rolls in between to tell the story.
THE PROJECT
This website was created to allow participants to view their portraits and the final video. In addition, creative portraits were also captured to highlight the individuals' wishes.
The Film is about people's desires and hopes - things they wish to happen or come true. Their answers were based on various things, such as personal goals, material possessions, relationships, health, or success in multiple areas of life.
This Film shows that wishes influence our lives, shaping our thoughts, emotions, and actions. It encourages us to think carefully about our hopes and dreams, and find ways to realistically pursue them.
